Plano School District #88 will be offering five distinct programs for the 2022 summer session including:  

Kindergarten Readiness:  Open to all incoming kindergarten students, this program focuses on preparing students to enter school to reduce fears commonly associated with attending school for the first time for our earliest learners.  This program is first come, first serve and space is limited.

  • Location:  P.H. Miller School
  • Dates:  June 6th -  June 30th
  • Days:  Monday through Thursday (no Friday session)
  • Time:  7:30 to 11:30 am
  • Cost:  Free
  • Free Meals:  Grab & Go Breakfast, Mid-Morning Snack, and Lunch

Summer Extension Grades K-3:  The purpose of this program is to leverage the month of June to assist our teachers in solidifying identified essential skills in literacy and math for students grades Kindergarten through 3rd.  Grades K-3 Eligibility Invitations - On April 14th, K-3 students who meet eligibility requirements will be sent an invitation.  Please follow instructions within the invitation to accept or decline your students invitation.  Unfilled seats will be offered to waitlisted students on a first come, first served basis.

Summer Extension Grades 4-8:  Open to all current 4th through 8th grade students, this program seeks to engage students in STEM activities which foster creation, invention, and exploration.  Students will also enjoy taking elective courses such as STEM Games, Theatre, Foods, Sports, and Art!  This program is first come, first served and space is limited.

  • Dates:  June 6th through June 30th
  • Days: Monday through Thursday (no Friday session)
  • Time: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • Cost: Free
  • Free Meals:  Grab & Go Breakfast, Mid-Morning Snack, and Lunch

Summer Extension Grades 9-12:  This is a credit recovery program (Flex) for students who have not successfully completed a graduation requirement.  Students should consult with their school counselor to determine course needs.  

These courses are computer-based, self-guided courses for students who previously did not pass their math, English, biology, science elective, U.S. History, Human Geography, consumer education, physical education, or other offered electives courses.  The session provides time for a student to complete a .5 (half) credit over a two to four-week period.

  • Location:  Plano Middle School
  • Dates:  June 6th through June 30th, or until the course is completed.
  • Days:  Monday through Thursday (no Friday session)
  • Time:  8:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • Cost:  Free
  • Free Meals:  Grab & Go Breakfast, Mid-Morning Snack, and Lunch

Driver’s Education:  Open to eligible students on a first come, first serve basis.  Prerequisites:  Passing grade in 8 classes during the previous two semesters including two semesters of physical education, and meeting the age eligibility requirement of age 15 years of age by June 30, 2022.  Students will earn one semester or .5 credits for successful completion of Driver's Education. This course requires a fee of $250.

  • Time:  8:30 am to 10:30 am
  • Cost:  $250
  • Free Meals:  Grab & Go Breakfast, Mid-Morning Snack, and Lunch

Log into your PowerSchool Mobile App or Parent Portal.  You will select Forms from the left navigation and select the form under the 2022 Summer Enrichment Program.  If you have any questions, please contact your student’s school.
