Plano School District No. 88 Board members recently honored middle and high school State qualifiers for their athletic accomplishments.  Cross Country athlete Johnny Espino proudly represented Plano Middle School at the IESA Class 2A Boys Cross Country State Finals held at Maxwell Park in Normal, by placing 147th among of strong field of 234 runners with a time of 12:55.8.  Seventh grade Espino placed 9th at the Cross Country Sectional held at Fuller Forest Preserve in Winnebago to advance to the State Finals.  

Faith Malloy placed 5th at the IHSA Regional Golf Meet held at The Creek in Morris, and 9th at the Sectional Golf Meet held at Phillips Park Golf Course in Aurora, to earn the opportunity to attend the IHSA State Golf Tournament.  Malloy shot a two-day total of 180 and placed 68th among the top golfers in the State of Illinois at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur.  Malloy, a senior at Plano High School, capped off a stellar season and golf career and received I-8 All-Conference honors all four years.  

Congratulations to both of these athletes for their dedication to sports in the Plano School District and for their high level of success.  Both were presented with a framed resolution and medallion for their achievements.
