City of Plano Fireworks

The City of Plano is planning a full day of festivities for Independence Day on Sunday, July 6th.

The day begins with a Fun Fest at Lathrop Park on North Street.  Scout Troop 71 and Cub Pack 317 are hosting an activity-filled Fun Fest from 11 AM to 3 PM. The Fest features a gaga ball pit, Lego pinewood derby, Nerf shooting range and tomahawk throw, a touch-a-truck and more!  Slushies from Kona Ice will also be available.

The Annual Family Walking Parade stages at Lathrop Park starting at 12:30 and kicks off at 1 PM.  Families and kids are invited to decorate strollers, bicycles, wagons and themselves to join in a real parade with firetrucks, police cars and antique tractors. No reservation or sign-up is required. Youth organizations and sports teams are also invited to participate.  Contact Mayor Rennels at 630/552-8275 to secure your group’s spot.

The day ends with fireworks at Plano High School. Sit in the stands at Reaper Stadium, located at 704 W. Abe Street, or bring chairs and set-up in designated areas. Gates open at 7:30 PM, with concessions offered by Plano Sports Boosters. Fireworks at dusk.  This is a safe, family-friendly event.  No alcohol, tobacco, firearms, coolers or tailgating allowed.  Please leave personal fireworks and sparklers at home. Support your local Sports Boosters and watch awesome fireworks light up the skies over Plano!
