November 15th marks School Board Members Day, an opportunity to thank the school board members of Plano CUSD 88 and give them the recognition they have earned for providing a local voice for our community’s education decisions.

School board members are volunteers serving as advocates striving for quality education opportunities for every student. Our board members take on this responsibility based on their strong commitment to our community and its children. Our board members act as front-line advocates, providing a local voice for the community, a vision for the district, and a pathway to success for our students.

Our board of education acts to safeguard two of our community’s most precious resources, our children and tax dollars while striving to create the best education environment possible.

The Plano Board of Education was one of 42 state school districts to earn the School Board Governance Recognition again this year, which recognizes exceptional governance practices by the Illinois Association of School Board (IASB). The Board earned this honor through its effective governance behaviors and its commitment toward obtaining the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively lead the district.

Thank you to Board President Tim Campbell (Academic Committee, Finance Committee), Board Vice President Kyle Klatt (Finance Committee), Board Member Mike Jernigan (Academic Committee), Board Member Chuck Schneider (Finance, Policy Committee), Board Member Doug Lyle (IVVC Board), Board Member Chad Martin (Academic Committee), and Board Member Tim Waldrop (Policy Committee). We recognize you for your commitment to District 88 and honor the time you give and your commitment toward making District 88 schools a welcoming, safe place for all our students to achieve their dreams.
