Reading aloud is one of the most important things parents and teachers can do with children.
READING ALOUD...
- builds many critical foundational skills;
- introduces vocabulary;
- provides a model of fluent, expressive reading; and
- helps children recognize what reading for pleasure is all about.
Each week of the summer, three pre-recorded read-aloud sessions will be released on the District 88 website and social media platforms.
Students and their parents are encouraged to listen to the weekly pre-recorded read-aloud together for family fun! All recordings will remain available until August 15th. Recordings will be released starting June 7th, with the final read aloud released on July 27th .
