Centennial Students at Board Meeting

Assistant Principal Tom Shuman and students from Centennial presented at the October Board meeting. The title of their presentation was Building a Culture of Belonging: SEL (Social Emotion Learning) in Action at Centennial. Mr. Shuman shared that they have one shared approach to belonging and expectations involving the 3 R's: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Ready to Learn. Students are recognized for demonstrating the 3 R's on a daily basis. There is a positive recognition opportunity connected to everyday acts of kindness and responsibility called the Impossible Shot. Acts are noticed, students are entered into a drawing, 10 are selected each month to try their hand at the Impossible Shot, and a successful shot is celebrated. Below you will see Board members and Superintendent Thurwanger trying their hands at the Impossible Shot!
