We are proud to highlight the great work happening at EGJ with Mrs. Amy Martin and her students!
Through a student goal-setting initiative, Mrs. Martin has helped students take ownership of their learning by guiding them through a structured process. Students learned to create goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely, then developed plans to achieve them—tracking and reflecting along the way.
At the meeting, students shared their math and reading goals with Board members, showcasing their growth and commitment.
As Dr. Thurwanger noted, it was a powerful experience to see how these goal-setting skills are not only supporting academic success but also carrying over into students’ everyday lives.
Thank you to Mrs. Martin for her leadership and to the EGJ students for sharing their hard work!
