PARENT'S RIGHT TO KNOW

DEAR PARENTS:

In compliance with the ESEA Law, section 111 h6 PARENTS RIGHT TO KNOW, the Plano School District #88 notified parents that all Title 1 students, have the right to know and obtain information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s teachers, including, as a minimum; the following information:

  1. If the teacher has acquired the professional qualifications for the level and subjects taught

  2. If the teacher is actively working toward any temporary or emergency certification that the state will exempt them of the requirement to have the adequate qualifications

  3. Information about the specialized university degree

  4. If the student is being taught by any other type of professional, and if so, what are their qualifications

If the student has been taught for 4 or more consecutive years by teachers not considered to be highly qualified, the school will notify the parents.
