Where can a parent/guardian go for support?
While we work to ensure that your student's experience in Plano CUSD #88 is full of exceptional learning experiences, we know that there may be times when a parent or guardian need support. As a result, please use the communication steps below to get your questions answered and work in partnership with our staff and leadership to do so.
First Step in Parent-School Communication: Your student's teacher is always the best place to start for any issue that arises in the classroom. Your student's teachers work directly with your student each day and become very familiar with their needs academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.
Second Step in Parent-School Communication: The second line of communication may be your student's dean or assistant principal. Administrators typically support matters related to academics or behavior. When in doubt, the dean or assistant principal can quickly support a parent in getting to the right place. In the event that you are seeking support with social or emotional matters, a school counselor or social worker may be the right place to seek support.

Our principals work with all building staff and are a great resource when a matter has reached an elevated level, and there is a need for additional perspective or resolution that has not occurred at step one or two.

Final Step in Parent - School Communication: Parents are welcome to attend monthly Board of Education meetings. Our Board of Education website can be found here. If a matter arises that needs support, the superintendent asks that you contact a district leader. You are always welcome to address the Board in person or by email. It is important to note that the Board of Education can not comment publicly on matters related to individuals, students, staff, or groups.
