Faith's Law Requirement/EHR's

To help protect children and students from the threat of sexual misconduct, Illinois Law and Illinois School Code (105 ILCS 5/22-94) requires all Illinois public/non-public elementary and secondary schools to conduct sexual misconduct related employment history reviews (EHR's) on certain applicants for hire. District 88 will reach out to current/former employers at which applicants had direct contact with children or students, meaning the possibility of care, supervision, guidance, or control of children or students or routine interactions with children or students. An applicant who provides false information or willfully fails to disclose information, shall be subject to denial of employment, or if already hired, shall be subject to discipline, up to and including termination.

District 88 and the Plano Area Special Education Cooperative (PASEC) will use the information received from current/former employers to evaluate the applicant's fitness to be hired. Similarly, other school districts are required to reach out to the Plano School District for Sexual Misconduct Related Employment History Reviews (EHR's) for former employees of the district and PASEC.
