Plano Middle School Native Plant Sale 2018

Plano Middle School is, once again, sponsoring the annual Native Plant Sale! Orders are due by May 1st. Click here to download a copy of the order form or contact Angie Carreno at Plano Middle School 630/552-3608 or Amy Hamilton 630/392-4394 to get a paper copy of the order form.

The Plano Middle School Leadership Club is sponsoring its 6th annual native plant sale to raise funds for native landscape improvements at the school and to encourage homeowners to incorporate plants that support Illinois wildlife into their gardens. Orders will be taken through Tuesday, May 1, 2018 with pick-up dates of Wednesday, May 16th from 2:40-6:00 p.m. for nineteen plant species with earlier growth habits and Wednesday, June 13th for four plant varieties with later growth habits. Pick up location is at the District Maintenance building located at 802 S.Hale Street.

Plants are sold in 2” plant plugs, with good root systems, easy to plant. Six species of woodland plants such as Virginia Bluebell and Jacob’s Ladder sell for $4.00 per plant.   Sun-loving prairie forbs and grasses like Northern Blazing Star,Butterfly Weed, Little Bluestem and Prairie Dropseed sell for $2.00 per plant.  Click here for a presentation that shows pictures of all of the plants and describes their growing habits, etc.
