Plano High School Theatre Department will present this school year’s annual fall play, A Wrinkle in Time. The dates for the show are October 18th at 7:00pm, October 19th at 7:00pm, and October 20th at 2:00pm. The performances will be held in the PHS auditorium. Parking is available on either side of the building. The ticket price is $5 a person and will be available for purchase at the door before performances as well as on our PHS Theatre website:
A Wrinkle in Time is the story of Meg Murray, a 14-year-old girl on a quest through space in order to find and save her father. She meets quirky people along the way that teach her about the importance of love and empowerment. Molly Herbig, a junior at PHS, will be playing the role of Meg Murray in our production.
She is “most excited for the audience to see Meg’s transformation from a discouraged, shy troublemaker to a confident, independent woman throughout the show.” Meg’s development during the show alludes to valuable lessons the audience can learn along the way. Linnea Collins, stage manager, added that she is “really excited to see all of the lighting, sound, and shadow effects that will be used in the show because we’ve never done a show with such intriguing visual effects before.”
A Wrinkle in Time is a timeless story that has many valuable themes to share. As our director, Mr. Shutack, put it, “despite a Wrinkle in Time being an older story, it has a lot of lessons that are relevant to modern day America.” Ryan Lugo, a senior portraying the role of Aunt Beast, expressed “I enjoy the fresh take on casting, it’s nice to see such a wide range of students participating in our fall production. I’m excited for my last fall play here at PHS!”
