Earth Science Students Habitat Project

The Earth Science Class recently welcomed another guest speaker, to offer insight into their habitat project near the Plano High School Library. Dave Guritz, of the Kendall County Forest Preserve District led an interactive discussion regarding the value of natural habitat on both large and small scale sites. The class then journeyed outside to investigate the effects of the Emerald Ash Borer on school trees and to investigate the variety of life forms found near the wetland on school property. A variety of organisms where located, including chorus frogs, carpenter wasps, snails, and leeches.
